Finding the Middle Way in Your Practice

A Daylong Meditation Retreat with Susan Schmickle

February 2, 2003, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

at

Stillpoint Yoga Studio in North Tampa

Are you having trouble staying on the road or just weaving a little bit? During this day long retreat, we will look into the some common issues (on and off the cushion) that distract us from the realization of our inherent freedom. The day will include instruction for concentration and insight meditation with alternating periods of sitting and walking practice.

No registration is necessary for this retreat.

About the teacher:

Susan Schmickle is from Charlottesville, Virginia. Her practice is rooted in Theravada Buddhism. Seeing that a common thread runs through all spiritual traditions, she incorporates this vision into her practice and teaching. Susan completed the Forest Way teacher training program in 2001. Matthew Flickstein has been her mentor and guiding teacher for 3 years.

What to bring:

A sitting cushion (zafu) or a firm pillow and a sitting pad (zabuton) or exercise mat (blankets and chairs will be available) and a light lunch and water. It’s best to wear comfortable, loose-fitting, “quiet” clothing. Please avoid wearing cologne, strongly scented lotion or perfume as many people have adverse reactions to these products.

Cost:

In keeping with the 2500-year-old tradition of Dana (generosity), the Teachings and retreat space are offered freely with grateful appreciation for the financial support of participants.
